Famiglia Meschini's Malbec Reserva represents a very authentic style of malbecs from Argentina. Fruit forward yet plenty of depth. Very smooth integration of oak into the fruit. Round tannins and explosive red fruits aromas. The wine was produced with grapes coming from 50 yr old vines from Nerviani Vineyard in Maipu, Mendoza. The grapes were hand harvested. Malolactic fermentation with indigenous yeasts in oak barrels. Aged 9 months using both American and French small oak barrels.
'Meschini's Malbec Reserva was sourced from 35-year old vines in Maipu. It was aged for 10 months in seasoned French and American oak. Deep crimson-colored it has a nose of cedar, spice box, earth notes, and black cherry. Full-bodied on the palate, the wine has plenty of savory black fruit, some spice notes, and intense flavors. Drink this large-scaled Malbec over the next 5 years.' 87 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, August 2009
